CAR PARKING INFORMATION
Why have we introduced a parking system?
-
Elstree is a 24/7 operational airfield so we must remain open at all times. This leaves us vulnerable to overnight visitors of all descriptions - unfortunately not always good ones.
-
Additionally, the car parks are often at capacity, especially on summer weekend days, so we need to ensure that the car park is only being used by our customers. It is regularly taken advantage of by visitors to other local attractions who are unwilling to pay the parking fare at those venues.
-
Safety is the main priority for us, as well as ensuring a positive experience for our own customers.

E-Permits (permanent and 24-hour)
-
Permanent e-permits are available to resident businesses' members of staff, PPL students, and other customers who require regular access.
-
24-hour e-permits are available to visitors to the cafe and resident businesses and shops.
-
To secure a permanent or 24-hour e-permit, please contact the relevant organisation.

Main Car Park (at top of Hogg Lane)
-
ALL motorists with a valid e-permit is able to access this car park.
-
Visitors without an e-permit must follow the instructions on the RingGo signs.
-
Tariffs: parking is free for up to 1 hour, then £1 for every subsequent hour (daytime only)
-
An additional 25p RingGo service charge is added to the first hour, and there is an additional optional 10p charge for an SMS reminder when your parking session is due to end. This payment can be manually removed using the RingGo app.
-
Cafe visitors are entitled to 1 additional free hour for a spend of £15 or more, and 2 additional free hours for a spend of £25 or more.
-
From 9pm until 6am, parking is strictly prohibited unless your vehicle has a valid e-permit.

EAC (Elstree Aviation Centre) Car Park
-
This car park is ONLY available to motorists with a valid e-permit. This includes motorists whose e-permits have been registered with businesses based in the airfield's other car parks.
-
Visitors to the businesses based in this facility (Ice Helicopters, Atlas Helicopters, Stars Fly, AKP Aviation, Natpoint) must register for a 24-hour e-permit with the relevant organisation.
-
Visitors to the cafe and other businesses based in the main airfield area or other hangars must park in those car parks.
Southeast Hangar Car Park
-
This car park is ONLY available to the team, customers and visitors of one of the resident businesses (Flight Training London, Leonardo, Uniparts) and members of the Elstree Aerodrome team and residents with electric vehicles (EVs) who want to use the 2 charge points.
-
Other e-permit holders are NOT permitted to use this car park. This includes private aircraft owners and the teams and customers of businesses based in other car parks.

Visiting Pilots
-
If you are visiting and due to be collected by car, please be aware that licensed taxis are exempt from paying parking charges and PCNs. If a private driver or friend / family member is collecting you, please contact the tower or head office with the vehicle's registration details and a 24-hour e-permit will be issued.
-
If you are arriving Out of Hours and nobody is available to take registration details at the time of the journey, please contact us the following day and the PCN will be voided within the 48-hour grace period.

PCNs (Penalty Charge Notices)
-
There are sure to be some issues with the introduction of a new system and 3 different car parks, therefore we are able to void PCNs within 48 hours of a car entering the site, provided the motorist was visiting legitimately.
-
We are also able to partially cancel PCNs that have been issued, with a reduced penalty charge of £20.
-
Exempt vehicles: Emergency vehicles, licensed taxis, licensed delivery vehicles and fuel trucks are all exempt from parking charges and PCNs in all 3 of Elstree's car parks.
