Safety Report Form
Anyone can use this form: pilots, students, passengers, based operators and tenants, contractors, visitors and aerodrome staff. Use it to report hazards, near misses, incidents and accidents at or around London Elstree Aerodrome.
Urgent? If something needs action right now, for example debris on the runway or a hazard to aircraft, telephone ATS on 020 8953 7480 (extension 1) first, then file this report.
Reports are used solely to prevent accidents and incidents, never to attribute blame. Honest errors and mistakes reported in good faith will not result in action by Aldenham Aviation against the reporter, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful violation. You can report anonymously.
This form does not replace CAA Mandatory Occurrence Reporting. If the occurrence is MOR-reportable, you must still submit it through the Aviation Reporting Portal within 72 hours.
How we use your information
Aldenham Aviation Ltd is the data controller for this form. We use the information you give us to investigate safety hazards and occurrences at London Elstree Aerodrome and to meet our obligations as a licensed aerodrome operator. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a safe aerodrome and, where applicable, compliance with our legal obligations under aviation regulation.
You do not have to give your name or contact details. If you do, we use them only to acknowledge your report, ask follow-up questions and tell you the outcome. Reports are seen by the accountable manager and those they appoint to investigate. Information is shared with the safety stakeholder meeting in de-identified form and may be disclosed to the Civil Aviation Authority or the Air Accidents Investigation Branch where we are required to do so. We do not share your details with your employer, flying school or aircraft owner.
Photos you upload may contain personal data about other people; please avoid including identifiable individuals unless it is necessary to describe the event.
We keep safety reports for 5 years in line with our aerodrome record-keeping requirements, after which they are deleted or anonymised. You have the right to access, correct or ask us to delete your personal data, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Contact manager@londonelstree.com.
