Elstree Aerodrome featured in Hertfordshire Life Magazine

Our condolences go to those who lived and worked with long-standing Hertfordshire Life Magazine Editor Richard Young, who very sadly passed away late last year. Richard was a great supporter of the Aldenham Estate, shining a light on our projects and progress at Home Farm Glamping and Home Farm Hub.

Most recently, Richard proposed a 6-page editorial article on London Elstree Aerodrome and its importance as an asset to the community and the economy. We want to thank fellow editor Katy Pearson and her team for fulfilling his wishes by writing such a fantastic article, which was featured in the January issue (page 20).

The piece provides a potted history of the aerodrome including its WW2 and post-war heydays, while Gibbs siblings Jessica and Humphrey talk about Elstree’s makeup and residents, exciting opportunities to build on the aerodrome’s innovation in engineering, and the team’s effort to attract more local talent into the aviation industry.

Thanks too to Elstree-based Pilot Kathan Dudhela for his interview and kind words on Elstree and Paul Murphy, owner of aircraft maintenance specialists London Elstree Aviation Ltd, for his insight into aircraft engineering.

Hertfordshire Life magazine is available in print from newsagents and digitally online for a small subscription via their website. Please consider subscribing to support local press in their efforts to showcase what Hertfordshire has to offer, and we'll have a copy of the article available to read inside the Aerodrome Cafe Elstree, open to the public 7-days a week.
