Things to see and do during your visit:​

  • Get closer: We are opening up the taxiway to create plenty of space to get you closer to the aircraft

  • Take a seat: We are making a real aeroplane available for children to take a seat in (grown-ups: please be ready to lift them up yourself)

  • New heights: We are taking small groups up into the Air Control Tower for a quick peek behind the scenes

  • Ask an expert: You are invited to ask specialist aircraft engineers your questions at the Elstree Aviation maintenance hangar

  • Flight Experiences: Take advantage of pre-booking a 15-min flight experience with Flight Training London (extra charge & restrictions apply, please contact them directly to book in advance)

  • Inspirational talks: Listen to Kathan Dudhela talk about his journey to becoming the UK’s Youngest Flight Instructor & World’s Youngest Flight Examiner (at 2pm on the lawn near the control tower) & visit The Air League stand to hear how schools can take part in their Soaring To Success charity programme.

By Road

Elstree is within the M25 and easily accessible via the M1, A1 and A41 from London.

OPEN DAY PARKING & ACCESS ANNOUNCEMENT  

  • In response to the volume of guests planning to attend, our team will direct visitors to park in a neighbouring farm.

  • The ground is grassy and a little bumpy, so if you have any concerns about your vehicle navigating the terrain, please consider walking in along the local footpaths or cycle (we will provide a bicycle rack in the field car park). 

  • Our stewards will be ready to usher you in and out of the field. Space in the field is still limited, so please car share where possible.

  • Taxis are also welcome to drop off and collect, while Blue Badge holders will be directed to park closer to the event on arrival.

  • From the field car park, there is a 250-metre walk up Hogg Lane before arriving at the entrance gate. While traffic passing for special access will be directed to drive slowly, please take care on your approach.
